  Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, Anda pasti pernah memberikan ucapan selamat kepada seseorang yang anda kenal atas pencapaian yang dia dapatkan. Concepts of Congratulations

Kata “Congratulation” jika diartikan ke dalam Bahasa indonesia, berarti selamat, ucapan selamat atau ungkapan selamat. Dimana ungkapan ini ditujukan kepada seseorang yang telah berhasil melakukan atau memperoleh sesuatu. Seperti memenangkan kejuaraan, lomba atau kontes, melangsungkan pesta pernikahan, merayakan hari ulang tahun maupun memperingati hari raya.

Expression that we use give the congratulation utterance when he or she be succed in doing someone.

Congratulation Cards

It is a piece of paper having any of variety of shapes nad format that contain a greeting or message of sentiment. The pupose is to congratulate, to wish or to show sympathy for someone’s achievement. The generic structure are:

1. Receiver/penerima, untuk siapa ucapan tersebut ditujukan. Tulis nama penerima dengan jelas.
2. Body/isi, ucapanyang ingin disampaikan
3. Sender/pengirim, tulis nama pengirim.

Contoh Dialog

a. Dialogue 1

Anto      : Congratulations, Syahrul. 

                It’s your dream to go to the school’s story telling compettitions, isn’t it?

Syahrul : Yes, it’s my dream. I have practiced everyday for the last two months with our teacher.

               Thank you for your support.

b. Dialogue 2

Lisa    : Congratulation, Jenny.

Jenny : Hah, For what?

Lisa    : You have a great score in Math test!

Jenny : Really? Oh, Thank you.

Lisa    : Waw! I’m so proud of you.

Jenny: Thank you, Lisa.

Ungkapan- ungkapan Materi Congratulation tersebut umumnya dipakai untuk memberikan ucapan selamat kepada orang lain (congratulate others). Anda tidak perlu susah payah untuk mengartikan per kalimat ke dalam bahasa indonesia. Intinya bahwa Ungkapan (Expression of congratulating) digunakan untuk mengucapkan selamat. Sedangkan uangkapan Responds to Exspression of Congratulating digunakan untuk membalas ucapan selamat yang diberikan oleh orang lain terhadap anda.
